Carol singers raise R1,000 for Children’s Feeding Trust

Nearly R1,000 was raised for the Children’s Feeding Trust during the Carols by Candlelight that took place in Redhouse last night.

A delighted Jenny Rump, Conservation Officer of Zwartkops Conservancy who organised the event, said about 45 people, including three guitarists and a recorder attended. She said at least five of those drove out from town. Jenny said the decorated lifesaving boat on the river was “beautiful.”

Tomorrow night (Wednesday 13th December 2023) the event moves to Bluewater Bay.  Residents are invited to join the musicians on the walk from under the N2 bridge in Amsterdamhoek Road to Tipper’s Creek that starts at 19h30. Houses along the banks of the Swartkops River have been decorated, and the surfboat will again be there.

If you would like to take part, please contact Jenny on 082 853 0700 so that she can know how many carol word sheets she needs to print. Remember to bring a torch.

Once again, there will be a collection for the Children’s Feeding Trust. Let’s show the generosity of Bluewater Bay residents!
