An evening show of force that included Bluewater Neighbourhood Watch, took place along the beachfront in Nelson Mandela Bay on Saturday evening, 16 December 2013.
Bluewater Bay was represented by Nolan Mathura, Jane Jardene, Johnny Cable and (CPF) and Craig Hendricks (iPatrol).
Summerstrand and Southend neighbourhood watches joined SAPS in the initiative, which was spearheaded by Nelson Mandela Bay MMC, Stag Mitchell.
The “Show of Strength” was organised by Stag Mitchell, Nolan Mathura (BWB and District CPF), Sean Tappan (Summerstrand NHW) and Louise van Rensburg (Alert NHW).
The group met at King’s Beach and then drove through several of the Metro’s southern suburbs before returning to their meeting point.
Later in the evening, a roadblock was set up in the nearby suburbs, but the Bluewater Bay contingent was not involved in that.
