BWB Crime Hotspots where domestic workers are targeted

Bluewater Bay Neighbourhood Watch/iPatrol has warned of two hotspots where gardeners and domestic workers are targeted – under the N2 Bridge in Weinronk and along Amsterdamhoek Road towards the Grahamstown Road end.

Craig Hendricks, chairman of the community service says thieves wait to attack gardeners and domestic workers who are on their way home, hoping to rob them of and daily payments the workers have received.

Craig urges homeowners to warn their workers about the risk and recommend to them that, whenever possible, they should try not to walk alone but rather with a friend or another domestic worker.

He reminded homeowners that any crime against these workers be reported to the SAPS in order to assist in keeping staff levels at SAPS Swartkops as high as possible and at the same time encourage increased efforts by SAPS to make these areas safer.
