After almost a decade since it was last published, the Bluewater Chronicle is making a comeback – but this time under the title Bluewater Bay Echo – and as an online publication that can be accessed via PCs, laptops and mobile phones.
Production and printing costs, plus distribution problems, led to a decision to stop publishing the Chronicle early in 2014. But the move to the digital world has created an opportunity to revive the publication so that it can provide its readers with a wide range of news that matters to the residents of Bluewater Bay and surrounding suburbs.
The Echo plans to cover news about the Bluewater Bay and Swartkops Ratepayers and Residents Association, local businesses, SAPS, CPF, BWB Neighbourhood Watch, Schools, BWB Surf Lifesaving Club, St Croix Sea Scouts, BWB Tennis Club, etc.
We also want to introduce our readers to the champions that do special things for our community and tell you about achievements – past and present – of people living in our community. The Echo will carry news about births, deaths and special occasions eg: 21st birthdays, silver and golden wedding anniversaries.
We would love to hear about any special achievements of your children in the sporting or academic field.
Our pets corner will report on lost and found pets and carry articles on pet food, products and human interest stories.
Our success will depend largely on the input of the community. So, if you have any news that you think worthy of sharing with the community, please forward your suggestion to: The Editor via email: editor@bwbecho.co.za or WhatsApp 082 341 8068.
The Echo is currently working on numerous stories that will be added as they are completed.
To access the free publication go to: www.bwbecho.co.za or connect to our Facebook site: Bluewater Bay Echo and please remember to click like and follow if you would like to receive updates as news comes in.
